There are so many things in this world you should not be doing, especially in the airport. With respect to the people and to the policy of the airport itself. So, here are the things you should not be doing while at the airport.
Don’t Talk too Loud
If you are used to talking loudly, then do not do this at the airport at all even if your voice is as soft as a piano. By speaking very loud, you will not only disturb the peace of the airport but will also give meaning and feelings to others like tension, restlessness, and resentment. Not only this, but in more serious cases, you will get yourself into trouble by violating the law.
Loud talking is rude and extremely immoral and people should avoid it as much as possible at the airport. Even if you have to call someone, it is better to go to him/her than to shout.
So, never ever talk so loud. This will make you look cheap and unprofessional.
Don’t Roam too much at Airport
Many people have the habit of going around if their flight is delayed or canceled. If you also have this habit, then leave it. If you are seen roaming a lot at the airport, you will look suspicious. There are people or employees who are monitoring the moves of the people inside. They might suspect you of something bad.
Yes, you can roam around your boarding gate. But, it will not be good for you to roam outside too much.
Don’t Travel with Someone’s Gift
If you are going on a journey and your friends, relatives or anyone tells you, “this is my gift or to take that thing”, then do not do this at all. Because you will not know what is inside it whether it is a mobile, a well-packed parcel, or a sweet box.
In September 2019, an Indian couple was trapped by their relative in a similar case. They didn’t know what was inside the parcel. And that couple had to spend 1.5 years in prison in Qatar.
So, it will be good for your journey if you do not go on a journey with anyone’s gift. You should always know what is inside your luggage.
Don’t Check In Other’s Bag
Don’t forget that you only have a limited kilo for your luggage. You don’t have to be a hero putting everything under your name. Ask your family or friends to check in with you and use their names to check their own luggage. The check-in officers might give you a fine if they caught you doing it. If your luggage is too heavy, then you can absolutely ask your friends to take some of the excesses. If you exceed the weight, they will ask you to pay, for sure.
Don’t leave your luggage unattended
This is a common mistake of some travelers. A lot of people make this mistake. Always carry your luggage with you if someone is calling you or you have to go to the bathroom. Some people tell others to take care of their luggage, this can also create a big problem. Never ever give your luggage to someone you don’t actually know personally. If someone puts something against security in your luggage, then only you will be responsible for that.
Therefore, never ever leave your luggage and bags out of your sight.
Don’t use B-words
Never ever use the words bomb, hijack, kill, bang at the airport even in a joking manner. Maybe this will be a joke to you but airport security takes these words very seriously. Airport security is trained to take any type of bomb threat very seriously. Airport Security takes any threats, even if they are made in jest. Security officers may ban you from the airport by doing so.
That’s why never use threatening words at the airport.
Don’t Argue With the Airport Security
I have seen many times people argue with airport security. And most of these debates are about luggage. I tell you this, “do not do it”. It is always best to support security, this will keep your image good. Moreover, they know what they are doing. Respect the officers. They are just doing their job o secure everyone. Unless you are being humiliated. Then, that is another story.
Don’t Wear Offensive Clothes
Never go to the airport wearing clothes that represent any religion, political party, or opposition to anyone. Always go to the airport in reasonable, simple and comfortable clothes.
Don’t put everything in security bins
Some people also put their passport, Id proof, or document in the security bins. those are the documents that needed no scanning. And yes, don’t put your valuable items in the bin. Unless they are metal and gadgets.
Don’t try to be funny
Of course, the airport is not a place to do fun. You are not in the theater or circus. If someone is asking you something at the airport, then you should give a direct and proper answer to him/her and not make fun of him/her. If airport security is asking you any question, then do not tell in a funny way, it can have the opposite effect. you can smile lightly. It would be good to answer every question of airport security properly, directly, and with full honesty.
Don’t Look Suspicious
Yes, you may look ugly but you shouldn’t be looking suspicious (kidding). If you think that airport security is only checking your luggage, then you are wrong. They also check your gestures and activities inside the airport. So, don’t do any malicious acts at the airport. If you seem not reliable, you may have to face more questions from the security or any employees at the airport. So, act normally and be who you are.
Don’t Pat the Sniffer Dogs at the Airport
Sniffer dogs are trained to search for suspicious objects. They are even sometimes better than humans. They have a high sense of smell. Never ever touch them. They are part of the security team. The K9 dogs are the usual dogs that you see in the airport. They are good at smelling drugs.
Don’t Lose your Temper
Of course, sometimes you may find traveling stressful. Most especially if your flight is delayed. Not only that, in the airport, most especially in busy hours and days, there are long queues. But, it is better that you do not lose your temper in this process. Be patient. Anticipate the busy hours. DOn’t go to the airport last minute.
Don’t be Rude
Be kind to everyone.
Last but not least, never be rude to anyone at the airport. Respect everyone, bring a smile to someone’s face, and help if you can. Make your journey enjoyable, joyful, and memorable. Waiting for boarding might be stressful. But, that is not enough reason to be rude. Be kind always and show manners and professionalism. Don’t be arrogant.
